Renaming The Gene Expression Basics To Gene Expression
Founded in 2002 by Nobel Laureate Carl Wieman, the PhET Interactive Simulations project at the University of Colorado Boulder creates free interactive math and science simulations. PhET sims are based on extensive education research and engage students through an intuitive, game-like environment where students learn through exploration and discovery. The Perkins group collaborated with the PhET team and Prof. Mike Klymkowsky in making the simulation for high school and early undergraduate biology students on gene regulation. A basic learning goal is to explain the basic anatomy of a gene, i.e., that they have a regulatory region, a coding region, and a transcription and translation startAbout PhET. Gene Expression - The Basics - Biology, DNA - PhET
Express yourself through your genes! See if you can generate and collect three types of protein, then move on to explore the factors that affect protein synthesis in a cell.A short introduction to gene expression and regulatory noise using PHETThe Basics of Gene Expression: Description This presentation covers the basics of how DNA is transcribed and translated, and the different players in these processes, and is a theoretical guide to the associated PhET animation. Subject Biology: Level High School, Middle School, Undergrad - Intro: TypeGene Expression- the Basics. Use a search engine and search for " phet gene expression basics ", open the link, click on the green "run now" box and open the simulation. Your are going through the basic processes of transcription and translation to produce 3 different proteins. Follow the steps below and answer the questions.PhET are interactive simulations covering topics in physics, chemistry, math, biology, environmental sciences etc. for elementary, middle and High School levels. The simulation makes the students understand the concept and exploring the topic. They also help the students to co-relate the topics with real-life examples. Simulations are a great way to capture students attention.
Description
Express yourself thru your genes! See if you'll generate and gather 3 types of protein, then transfer on to discover the standards that impact protein synthesis in a cellular.
Sample Learning Goals Explain the primary sequence of events that occur inside of a cellular that leads to protein synthesis.Predict how converting the concentrations and interactions of biomolecules impacts protein production.Explain how protein production in a single cellular pertains to the amount produced by a collection of cells.Version 1.0.16
